About us

Wycombe Photographic Society is a group of enthusiasts, from beginners to experts, young and older, male and female, whose common interest is photography. The activities of the Club embrace all types of still photography: digital and prints in both colour and monochrome. Society Rules

The club meets most Thursday evenings each month (check programme) from September to June, at the Micklefield Community Centre, Micklefield Road, High Wycombe at 7:45pm for 8:00pm start. Although the Club is not able to offer formal courses you will find that the members are willing to help with problems, readily offer advice and share their experiences. There are also evenings set aside on specific subjects covering all aspects of photography from 'camera craft' to 'using specific software'. See Programme for more details.

The Club activities include: Internal and external competition. Talks given by visiting speakers. Outings to local and further afield places of photographic interest. Our Annual Exhibition is held during the Wycombe Arts Festival. There are in house tutorials on Image Capture, presentation and Photoshop together with several social events during the year.

The Print and Projected Image evenings are friendly affairs, & are judged at three levels. The critique from the judges, which is constructive, contains useful & informative advice not only for the competitor but also for all club members.

The membership is open to all ages and abilities. See subscriptions for more details. Membership runs from 1st June to 31st May. The fee is reduced to members joining partway through the year. Visitors may attend 2-3 meetings without commitment. The fee for the Workshops (which are open to non-members) is £2 per session. Download Membership Form here and bring it along to a meeting and hand to any official.

The Club is active within the The Chilterns Association of Camera Clubs, and through this Association is affiliated to the The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain. The Club is also a member of the The Federation of N W London Photographic Societies.
